About Our Agencies

Chautauqua County has three individual agencies that are designed to assist businesses and organizations with the goal of economic development and growth.

The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) works with the Chautauqua County Department of Planning & Development, along with other local authorities including the Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) and Chautauqua County Capital Resource Corporation (CRC), in an effort to attract, retain, and expand business operations within Chautauqua County.

CCIDA was established in 1972 pursuant to Section 895-h of New York State General Municipal Law to attract, retain, and expand businesses in Chautauqua County by providing financial incentives to private entities. CCIDA provides tax abatements, low interest loans, and bond financing to create and retain jobs.

CREDC is a local development corporation (LDC) originally incorporated in 1986 pursuant to the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law (NFPCL). CREDC’s mission is to relieve and reduce unemployment and promote/create additional employment. The Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) is an initiative of CREDC.

CRC is a local development corporation (LDC) originally incorporated in 2009 pursuant to the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law (NFPCL) to issue tax-exempt bonds for civic and other facilities.

CCIDA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of up to nine members. The CCIDA board members also serve as the Board of Directors of CREDC and CRC.

CCIDA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) are responsible for the day-to-day operations of CCIDA, CREDC, and CRC.
