Celebrate local trails with CHQ Trails Day – Saturday, June 21, 2025 – with a variety of events happening across Chautauqua County!

Group Hikes & Picnic

Group Hike & Picnic

Bird Walk
Location: Cassadaga Lakes Nature Park

Details: Early morning bird walk in one of the county’s most bird-rich parks.
Family Friendly Hike
Location: Boutwell Hill State Forest – Homestead Loop Project
Arab Hill Truck Trail – Cherry Creek, NY
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Organizer: Chautauqua County Equestrian Trail System / Boutwell Hill Ski Club
Details: Includes opening ceremony of new trail at 11:30 a.m., with a hot dog cookout to follow and wagon rides starting at noon.

Group Mountain Bike Ride (All Levels)
Location: Loud Performance

Time: 10:30 a.m.
Organizer: Western New York Mountain Bicycling Association (WNYMBA)
Details: There will be beginner, intermediate, and adanced ride levels. We will also ride the trails at Long Point State Park (intermediate to advanced). Food (most likely pizza) will be served after. Pot luck dishes also welcome. Bring your own beverage.
Guided Canoe/Kayak Trips
Location: CWC Kyle’s Landing Preserve
Marden Cobb Waterway Launch, Red Bird Corners
Route 380 & Sinclair Drive – Sinclairville, NY
Time: 1 p.m. (with 1 hour launch intervals after)
Organizer: Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy
Details: Tentatively, a limited number of kayaks will be made available to those interested in trying this activity. Personal Canoes and kayaks are welcome. Small group paddle tours offered during timed slots, with a shuttle available to return to starting point.
